Dear Scout,

A couple of friends and I recently (Feb/2007) purchased a 2001 280 Abaco Series. We have always had center consoles and were a little reluctant going to on an express style boat. Well, to say that we have enjoyed our boat would be an understatement! It is the perfect express style boat that can double as an offshore fishing and cruising boat. This week-end we entered the 50/50 Billfish Tournament out of Toler’s Cove in Mt. Pleasant, SC sponsored by Scout Boats. We took a long shot chance and entered all categories including the billfish category. Well we ended up releasing a 250-300 lb Blue Marlin Day 1 and released a nice Sailfish Day 2. That was enough for us to finish in 2nd Place in the tournament. Pretty cool story about how one of your little boats can compete with one and two million dollar custom sportfishers.
