Dear Scout,

My first boat was the Scout 185 Sportfish. I use it mostly on the South Shore of Long Island. I bought it used and immediately fell in love with the boat. Before I bought my boat, I was dead set on getting a Boston Whaler. However, after looking at them I felt they were to narrow and over-priced. I looked at other boats but none of had that “thing” that I was looking for. But eventually I stopped at a marine and they showed us the Sportfish. I absolutely loved it. It had everything. It’s the perfect boat and I know I will be sticking with Scout Boats the rest of my life. The boat maneuvers with ease through the water with the 130 HP Yamaha engine. It rides like it’s on a cloud. The boat is also very versatile. I can go out just cruising around with my friends, and then go fishing the next day without having to change anything on the boat. I just wish I lived further south where there was a year long boating season. I’ve also received many comments on my boat from fellow boaters on how much they admired it.
