Customer Chronicles

Dear Scout,

I’ve been with the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Department boat patrol for the past 4 years, and that was when I was introduced to your Scout 202 Sportfish. Green Lake is one of Wisconsin’s most pristine lakes, with a surface area of 7,346 acres, also the deepest lake, 237 feet and has almost 27.3 miles of shoreline. All of this is within 2 1/2 hours driving time from cities like Chicago, Milwaukee and Green Bay, so you can see why our lake receives so much attention in the summer time. With the weather in Wisconsin changing at the drop of a hat, I have found that the Scout is the only boat I would have wanted to be in. It has carried us through some of the most difficult water the lake has offered. Just this summer we were caught on the water by an unexpected storm that continued to build its strength as it traveled across two counties in a short period of time. Myself and another patrol deputy had a short period of time to cover this large lake and warn boaters of the approaching weather. While trying to get everyone else off the lake we were caught by the storm, and there were record wind speeds on shore of 55 MPH; I believe the wind was in the area of 75 MPH on the water. These high winds were strong enough to pick up the front of the boat and throw it to the side, causing us to take action to bring the boat around and face it back into the storm. I guess what I’m trying to pass onto any potential customers of Scout boats that from my experience, any customer buying a Scout will be receiving a quality product. Thanks to the foresight of our Sheriff Michael Handel and your high quality product I would not have been able to send these photographs or write this letter, as I could have been left in the 237 feet of the lake water.

Thanks again for a quality product,
Deputy Larry Simon; Green Lake County Sheriff’s Dept
