Dear Scout,

My Scout is a 1998 177SF boat with a Yamaha 115hp engine. I added the platform. This is my family in Key west Lobstering (my wife, Lisa , daughter Annie and son Alex in 2002) during Mini season. The serious bug harvest that day was by me.

Good lobstering is based on three things….Location location location…for which I have numbers passed on to me that are now 25 years old and still undiscovered and unmolested every year. Depending if its my family or my serious bug buddies, we can limit out in one hour and still have to leave lobster behind, and that is both days. My scout has caught tarpon in Boca Grande, Scallops off of Steinhatchee, and explored most of the Suwannee and Santa Fe river springs. We have 50 acres on the Suwannee River, so the boat stays up there during the year, and I bring her home to Indian Rocks Beach for Tarpon season or for a trip to the Keys.
